NOSTRAS is a Nostr client with no app store gatekeeper and no custody of your keys or funds — paired with a self-hosted relay that does the heavy lifting so the client stays fast, wherever you install it.
What's actually shipped
That's deliberate — a note, a zap, a DM, or a signer connection made in NOSTRAS reads the same way to any other Nostr client or relay in the network. Nothing here is a silo.
Connect a bunker app or a browser extension. Your private key never touches NOSTRAS's servers — full stop.
Connect any NWC-compatible Lightning wallet. Payments go straight from your wallet to theirs — NOSTRAS is never in the money's path.
Gift-wrapped DMs that hide who's talking to whom from the relay itself, not just the message contents.
Summarize, translate or ask anything. Requests are encrypted to our DVM, each model says who can see your text, and you pay per job over Lightning. No subscription.
Full-text search and outbox-aware feeds — most public relays skip both. NOSTRAS's own node doesn't.
Install it like an app. Mentions, DMs, and zaps reach you without keeping a tab open.
Open source, and still verifiable
NOSTRAS is open source under the AGPL-3.0. The client, the relay and the DVM live in one public repository. Read it, build it, run your own copy, or check exactly how keys and payments are handled.
You still don't have to take the code on trust. Every action
NOSTRAS takes leaves the same signed, public trace any Nostr client
would: a note is a kind 1 event, a zap is
kind 9735, a signer connection is NIP-46. Watch the
events on the relay with any tool that speaks Nostr and compare
them with what the code says it does.
AI jobs are encrypted between you and our DVM, and every model it offers says who can see your text. Prefer your own hardware? Run the DVM on your own models.
